Taco Bell Queso Crunchwrap

Crunchwraps from Taco Bell have always seemed a little redundant to me. They're just tacos in a burrito wrap, right? Stands to reason that it wouldn't be any different than an average taco. But tonight I've been proven wrong, by the new Queso Crunchwrap.

The Queso Crunchwrap's contents don't differ too much from the Crunchwrap or the Crunchwrap Extreme; it's filled with beef, nacho cheese, jalapeños, and tomatoes, which I opted out of (watched "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" one too many times as a boy, I suppose). Upon biting into the Queso Crunchwrap, the first thing I noticed was the nacho cheese, in all its weakly-spicey, super-salty glory. Then the beef kicked in, and I noticed the texture disparity between the soft burrito and the crunchy tortilla, and that's when I changed my mind about Crunchwraps. Somehow, it manages to be better than a taco. I think it might be because there's less beef/space between the tortilla walls, making it a distant relative to the Mexican pizza. On the bad side, I didn't taste the jalapeños at all, and looking back, I wonder if there were any on it. However, clearly jalapeños would be a good addition to this flavor combination.

The Crunchwrap's simplicity is what makes it so good. It's not a reality-shattering discovery, this exciting new shape in the taco-timeline, but it's another filling, delicious, and cheap item to add as a possible purchase, thereby varying my meals from Taco Bell, sparse as they may be. After all this time, I'm finally good to go.
