Super Mario Galaxy

A certain stocky plumber has permeated American society like no other could even dream of. The Mickey Mouse of Japan made his way states-wide in 1985 and has never looked back. Last year he visited about the only place he hasn't been; space. The storyline of the game doesn't differ too much from the classic...Bowser steals the princess as usual, but this time he takes the whole castle. Into space.

Super Mario Galaxy is the best Mario game to date. Don't believe me? Play it. With new additions to the franchise like Star Bits, Launch and Sling stars, and spin techniques, as well as stunning environments, mind-blowing physics, and over 40 original galaxies, it's illegal in 38 states to not play it. You can literally long jump off the edge of a small planet and orbit it completely because of the unique gravitational physics. SMG contains an unprecedented number of bosses for Mario games. One flaw: the game contains an optional little story that is bearable at best. However, this part of the game is totally optional. Prior to this game, I was in love with Super Mario Sunshine. I always will be, but this game surpasses the predecessors in gameplay, music (absolutely outstanding orchestral work), graphics, boss battles, and most importantly, fun.

7/7
