Group Hug

Have you ever wanted to know what a random person is thinking deep, deep down? Do you want to know people's dirty little secrets? Do you ever wish you could spy on people while they're confessing at church? If so, you're a sick person, but hey, me too. My friend, this is why Group Hug was created.

Group Hug was the original anonymous confession site when I found it about five years ago, and it's still going strong today. It's surprising, the enormous amount of people that actually use the site for confessions. Every once in a while there are some that you know are totally fake, or the person's just messing around, but those just add spice to the mixture. Often times, the confessions are hilarious, poignant, and/or deep. Then again, sometimes you'll find racist, hateful, and awful confessions. However, thanks to the internet, you can read it without worry, completely detached from the situation! You can browse the newest confessions, read random confessions, or confess something yourself, and you used to be able to moderate confessions, I.e. read them before anyone else and choose whether they're awesome enough to go on the site, but I don't think you can do that anymore.

Group Hug is bigger than just laughing at some kid who says he wishes he would get shot and live just so he could have a cool story to tell. Each confession acts as a looking glass, through the lens lies another point of view, another life, another story to tell. People have found inspiration in the pages of this site. There was even a book published, featuring many of the best (however they qualify that) confessions. The real point is, though, that if you start reading this site, you probably won't stop before a few hours have passed. Or maybe that's just me.
