X-Box 360

Upon moving back to Florida, having not seen a friend of mine for about 3 years, the first thing he asked me was "You got X-Box Live?" At the time I didn't know what he was talking about, but now you can't go anywhere without hearing about X-Box. Providing a perfect niche between the slightly more casual-oriented Wii, and the over-priced, 3-years-too-early PS3, the 360 has games for every genre.

The 360's graphical capabilities are extremely sufficient, and it's only getting better. With games like Ninja Gaiden 2, Gears of War, the Halo series, and Assassin's Creed, serious gamers have nothing to complain about. Microsoft does have a soft side though, as seen with Viva Piñata, Scene-It, and tons of X-Box Live Arcade games. Speaking of XBLA, the amount and variety of games available is actually pretty amazing, including some full downloadable X-Box originals. X-Box Live is extraordinarily well organized, and is by far the best online-console system. By using programs like Connect360, you can turn your console into a full media player. Given everything that the X-Box 360 can do, it might just be the most cost-efficient console available.
